Scholarly Lectures / Presentations
For 18 years, Anthony has given back to the Legal Profession and community by creating, presenting, hosting, moderating, and/or lecturing at Continuing Legal Education Classes (“CLE”) of Attorneys, Law School Classes, and legal Programs, including the following:
• Anthony was bestowed the honor of being appointed to lecture to New York State Judges by the Dean of the Judicial Institute, Hon. Kathie Davidson, in January 2022 concerning “Presiding Over Civil Jury Trials”. Thereafter, Anthony was asked to help create, co-author, lecture and perform “live” as the plaintiff’s Trial Lawyer to simulate what happens during a Trial, in a 7 Part Video-taped series, concerning Pre-Trial matters to Summation, entitled “Jury Trial Simulation Series”. The basis of the series was an actual Trial in which Anthony was the plaintiff’s Trial Attorney. Anthony works with the Judicial Institute’s Dean and Assistant Deputy Counsel, along with two incredible Jurists and defense attorney per Module to make this lecture and simulation series the best it can be for our State’s Judges.
• “Gary Pillersdorf’s Advanced Bootcamp For Lawyers” CLE, NYSTLI, 2021 (Co-Chair, Moderator and Lecturer): this CLE concerned preparing your case from Jury Selection to Verdict at Trial. Anthony and his Co-Chair, Past-President Leslie Kelmachter, have the privilege to teach this Course together, which is named after one of the best Trial Lawyers in the Nation, and they have outstanding panelists of Judges and Attorneys who also contribute their knowledge and life experience to help attorneys be the best Trial Lawyer they can be.
• “Pleadings & Filings” Writer and Lecturer at NYSTLI Decisions, 2011-2020 (Lecturer/Speaker): each year there are cases that interpret the NY Civil Practice Laws and Rules (CPLR) concerning Complaints, Answers and/or Bill of Particulars, including interpreting the law regarding Relationship Back Doctrine, Leave to Serve a Late Notice of Claim and Jurisdiction. This writing and lecture bring Attorneys up to date of all important cases in 2020 of the Supreme Court, Appellate Divisions and/or the Court of Appeals, as well as important Decisions in Westchester County Supreme Court.
• “Pace Law School Professional Development Program”, Pace Law School, February 2021 (Lecturer): lectured 80 Pace Law School Students, along with the Dean and two Pace Alumnae, concerning “Professional Development” as Students and future Lawyers, starting from the resumé, interviewing at a law firm, and being an Associate at a law firm, and tips as to how to succeed and to be the best they can be as a lawyer.
• “Pace Law School Practice Management Course”, Pace Law School, Law Students, February 2021 (Lecturer): lectured Pace Law School students concerning “Practice Management” with Hon. Walter Rivera.
• “Pace Law School Practice Management Course”, Pace Law School, Law Students, April 2020 (Lecturer): lectured Pace Law School students concerning “Practice Management” with Hon Walter Rivera.
• “A Word From the Bench CLE”, 2020 (Creator, Lecturer and Moderator): this CLE was created to inform the Trial Bar of what New York County Supreme Court Judges think, do and advise with respect to Trial Practice, and they also discussed the practice of law during the pandemic. The wisdom of the Jurists, who preside over a plethora of trials, know/have opinions about what they think works and what doesn’t. Judges Eileen Rakower, Joan Madden and John Kelly were asked questions by Anthony about Pre-Trial Motions, Court Rules, expectations, and discussed matters from Jury Selection to the Charge Conference.
• “Gary Pillersdorf’s Advanced Bootcamp For Lawyers”, NYSTLI, 2020 (Co-Chair, Moderator and Lecturer): immediately prior to the Pandemic, this CLE was started concerning preparing your case for Trial and Jury selection. Past-President Leslie Kelmachter and I were Co-Chairs and our guest Faculty was: Hon. Marsha Steinhardt, Hon. Ellen Spodek; Hon. Lewis Lubell; Michele Mirman, Dan Leav and Meryl Schwartz. Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), this Program was interrupted and adjourned to complete the remaining parts until the virus passed or given “virtually”.
• “Gary Pillersdorf’s Bootcamp For Lawyers” 2019 (Co-Chair, Moderator and Lecturer): taught 31 lawyers all aspects of a trial, from Jury Selection to Summation, including a discussion about Ethics. Anthony created the materials, and the fact pattern is from a case I actually litigated and took to trial. This class is taught with my Co-Chair, Past President Leslie Kelmachter, along with other fabulous lecturers: Judge Linda Jamieson, Judge Eileen Rakower, Judge Ellen Spodek, Judge Francesca Connolly, Judge Marsha Steinhardt, Judge Lewis Lubell, Judge John Kelly, then NYSTLA President Michele Mirman, Shoshana Bookson, Dan Leav, Helene Blank, Marc Dittenhoefer, Bob Genis, Josh Silber, Victoria Wickman, Marie Ng, Nick Timko, Vito Cannavo, Mike Jaffe, and others.
• “Gary Pillersdorf’s Bootcamp for Lawyer 2018” (Co-Chair, Moderator and Lecturer): 5 classes. Assembled and developed entire Fact Pattern, hosted, organized and lectured along with Co-Chair Past-President Leslie Kelmachter. (Additional speakers: Bob Genis, Helene Blank, Marc Dittenhoefer, Nick Timko, David Oddo, Chet Kern, Judge Lubell, Judge Connolly, Judge Kelly, Josh Silber, Vito Cannavo, Mike Jaffe, Judge Spodek, Judge Steinhardt, Shoshana Bookson, Michele Mirman, Marea Wachsman, Meryl Schwartz, Judge Jamieson, David Roth, and Marie Ng)
• “Honoring Women in the Law”, Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, March 18, 2019 (Creator, Host and Moderator): this incredible event concerned where women started, where they are now, and where they should be in the future to appropriately reflect their value and equality in the law. The stories of women “trailblazers” inspired not just women, but all people who feel prejudice, whether because of gender, race, sexual orientation, etc. This years’ Panelists and Honorees were: Judge Sallie Manzanet-Daniels, Administrative Judge Kathie Davidson, Judge Betty Weinberg Ellerin, Judge Joan Lefkowitz, and Judge Sondra Miller. The event was attended by approximately 170 people and the stories shared that evening by the panelists will be remembered for a lifetime.
• “Trial Of a Medical Malpractice Case”, for NYSTLI, 2018: Continuing Legal Education Course Organizer, Moderator and Lecturer along with David Oddo, Judy Livingston, Christopher Meagher, Vito Cannavo, and others.
• “A Word From the Bench” Continuing Legal Education Course for NYSTLI, 2018 (Organizer, Creator, Moderator and Lecturer): seven Supreme Court Judges participated in this CLE, in which 41 Lawyers attended to get insight on each Jurist, and information about a Trial, from Jury Selection to Summation.
• Uber Update CLE for NYSTLI, 2017 (Lecturer and Host): significant changes and legislation was enacted concerning Uber and LYFT, and Lawyers attended to be educated.
• “Pace Law School Leadership Award” Presenter, Pace Law School, 2017: Honor of Introducing a Leadership Award Recipient, Prof. Jay Carlisle, at Pace Law School Leadership Award Dinner. Prof Carlisle is a prolific writer concerning the CPLR and a Professor at Pace Law School with a storied career, and has been a Mentor of mine for over 31 years.
• “Gary Pillersdorf’s Advanced Bootcamp for Lawyers” – “Bootcamp for the Seasoned Attorney: A Clinical Course in Advanced Trial Tactics”, 2017: Lecturer with Leslie Kelmachter and Helene Blank.
• “Jury Selection, Picking the right Jury for your case”, NYSTLI CLE, 2015: organizer, creator, host and lecturer along with then NYSTLA President Evan Goldberg, Past President of the NYS Bar Henry Miller, Alfred Vigorito, Christopher Meagher and others.
• “Gary Pillersdorf’s Boot Camp For Lawyers”, 2015 (Lecturer with Gary): Direct and Cross Examination of witnesses.
• NYSTLI “Auto Crash” CLE, 2015 (Lecturer): lectured along with Michael Jaffe, Helene Blank and Joshua Stein.
• Event Honoring Surrogate Scarpino and Administrative Judge Nicolai, Pace Law School (2015): Creator, Host and Moderator of this event Honoring two retired Jurists, Surrogate Scarpino and Administrative Judge Nicolai.

• Automobile Litigation CLE for the Westchester County Bar Association, Pace Law School, January 2012 (Lecturer): taught Automobile Litigation in an all-day CLE seminar with other panelists.
• Organized, publicized and moderated/hosted the “Master’s Series” in Westchester County, CLE for NYSTLI, NYSTLA in which Ben Rubinowitz, Judith Livingston, David Dean, Henry Miller and Evan Torgan presented a CLE on Openings and Summation on September 14, 2011. This event had 115 attorneys with a 50 attorney waiting list.
• “Basic Tort and Insurance Law”, New York State Bar Association, 2010 (Lecturer): concerning Liens, No-Fault, Worker’s Compensation, GOL §5-335, and Medicare Set Asides.
• Guest Lecturer with then District Attorney Janet DiFiore, in 2009, to 100 parents concerning kids using Facebook and social media and liability for injuries at home
• Lectured/taught 40 Westchester Attorneys “Trial of a Personal Injury Case, Jury Selection to Summation”, for Westchester County Bar Association, May 12, 2009
• Lecturer/taught classes in Trial Advocacy, at Pace Law School, in 2004
